KEY ACHIEVEMENTS

Implemented 3D CAD Design in 3 companies saving £400k and 4 months on a nuclear decommissioning project with Magnox Ltd. Cameron Subsea, and Robdale were the other 2. The benefits were seen to:
    1. transform the level of team and stakeholder interpretation of proposed design concepts right from the start by using the 3D CAD images as a powerful communication tool for ideas and progress reporting.
    2. maximise the value of 3D data by enabling collaborative working with internal and external parties,
    3. optimise progress by using the early phase 3D CAD data and maturing it further to deliver all subsequent project Drawings, GAs, BoMs and use 3D CAD images within procedure docs to improve their useability.
Appointed as the configuration item owner (CIO) for a significant upgrade to an essential but aging helicopter mounted Radar scanner head. Key qualification documents and 3D design definition updates allowed the unit to be better placed to meet its updated primary design requirements. (Thales)
Many ‘First of a Kind’ designs:-
  • A purge trolley and wet waste transfer system. (Magnox.)
  • Wind turbine crane and ergonomic access. (NEG Micon.)
  • Cigarette production tray handling machine. (Molins.)
  • Food wrapping machine customisation. Mars.)
  • Paper reel wrapping machine upgrade. (Robdale.)
  • Wing-pod directional radar head. (Marconi.)
Promoted to become SAP business process owner, driving project from concept to delivery, implementing SAP’s PLM module: defining functionality, refining processes, and training 60% of the department personnel for 2 UK sites. (Meggit)
Created a 3D AutoCAD tutorial website and achieved excellent Google results on merit – several entries on first page without resorting to ‘paid-for’ search results! A decision analysis website (for assessing complex choices options) also created.
