Technical Query Responder for 17tonne Hydraulic driven Cargo Doors to connect 12 HPU circuits to span 30m to the doors for their 3-way sealing circuits. Giving design for manufacture guidance to the vendor.

Full details of this role:
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer. Hydraulics Equipment Technical interface with the vendor of the ‘Plenum’ hydraulics main assembly.
  • Overseeing vendor activity for the detail design phase of 12 hydraulic circuits to connect two main sub-systems – the Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU) & hydraulically driven Cargo Doors – each with 3-way sealing. Included doc authoring & a sub-system nomenclature solution.
  • Used the D2 document control & workflow software (Documentum.) Used NavisWorks 2020 BiM software to share design information with other stakeholders supplying into the ‘Plenum’ space to avoid equipment interference clashes. Created from scratch a tailored pressure ‘losses’ calculation spreadsheet. Home working 95% of the time with use of meeting software – both Skype & MS Teams.
  • Security Cleared to SC Level, but displaced by a Permanent member of staff as a result of changes due to the impact of Covid-19.
