Sector:
Energy – Offshore Oil and Gas subsea risers.

Overview:
Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and Detail design of GE’s latest Installation Workover Ctrl System Risers (IWOCS) with pressures to 15k PSI
Worked with:
> Doing gap analysis between Well Intervention Standards – API RP 17G vs ISO 13628-7 and
> Doing an API RP 17N compliant FMECA study of Riser’s lifetime risks.

Full details of this role:
Worked in 2 areas for Riser development:-
Firstly, undertaking a gap analysis of Subsea Well Intervention standards API RP 17G (WD5) & ISO 13628-7 to enable SRP to exceed the most stringent parts of each standard during creation of the next generation Risers featuring the revolutionary ‘Nimway’ joint connection system.
Secondly, doing a FMECA study in accordance with Subsea Technical Risk standard API RP 17N to identify the lifetime risks of Risers & their connection systems – including application to MOHO N. Job description also included:-
Contributing to creating & developing new technology drawing on past experience of all aspects of product design, solid modelling, & the tools used to verify fitness for purpose including calculations, finite element analysis, & attending Design Review meetings.
