Overview:-
Promoted from a backfill engineering role to the PLM Business Process owner for an ERP Software upgrade from Man-Man to SAP.
Specified and implement the SAP PLM module for Material Master + BoM’s + Doc Management + Change Management ECN’s.
Fitted the existing Business Processes to the new Global SAP Template (46 Sites) by gap analysis of the SAP solution and supporting its evolution with additional features defined to SAP coders to fill process shortfalls.
Role included defining data migration definitions, and authoring then delivering PLM user training.


Full details of this role:
Lead the engineering departments through the implementation of a new SAP I.T. system by understanding the Global Template capabilities of the SAP solution being inherited, & refining the site business processes accordingly to fit the new SAP template. Where the template was deficient, it was amended by defining new functions to the HQ coding team. Once the updated template was in place, I defined the data sets for the users to create, tested their data packs, & created + delivered final training to the user group – approx. 12 people, or 60% of the dept. High degree of familiarity with Material Master, BoMs, Doc info Records, Doc structures, Change notes, workflow, Org structure, serial number ranges, Object linking, Classification Characteristics, Document Management System & Manufacturer Part numbers – MPN / CPN. Familiarity with Split Value materials for aftermarket overhaul items & asked to apply for the role of Engineering Support Manager. Upon finishing SAP work, was doing Engineering Design & draughting of a Fibre Optic Temperature sensing unit with Solid Edge 3D CAD.
